Dr Neeraj Patil was the first Mayor of Indian origin in the London borough of Lambeth and has served as Lambeth councillor for eight years.
He has completed his post-graduation from the prestigious Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh with an FRCS & MRCS in A&E.Dr Patil has served as in the National Health Service of for 22 years and was Governor of the Prestigious Guy’s and St Thomas hospital and Kings college hospital London. He was twice elected to the National Policy Forum of the Labour Party.
He took the initiative to erect the statue of Basaveshwara on the bank of river Thames opposite the British Parliament. The Prime Minister of India unveiled this statue on 14thNov 2015.
He was selected as Parliamentary candidate in June 2017 against the powerful education secretary Justine Greening and he was successful in bringing down her majority from 10000 to 1554.
